Killer Crocs!!!

Killer Crocodile News Stories: Because there is a little bit of Fox News in everybody.

Power to the People!

People publishing is what drew me to the web in the first place; I just forgot that until now.

I remember gefawing over innane sites about peoples’ cats and dumb people tricks. I got my first hosting account at Turnpike where my friend and I set up dueling sites (Coops Original Beep and ???). It is that fun and fanciful feeling alive and well in sites like Blogging.la, Slashdot and the thousands of other forums, blogs and collective publishing sites.

Hosting movefest 2003

Whew! Nearing the end of the giant hosting movefest that marks the end of my eight year hosting saga. The BIGGY, Brothers Performance, is done (minus errata) as of today. My site has been moved without major issue and all of the other sites are done, in someone else’s hands, or awaiting DNS updates. Woohoo! The light is bright!

The word must be spread like butter…

Spamgourmet provides “free disposable email addresses, strong spam blocking, very short learning curve”.

What’s more to be said?

Customizing Blogger

Happily customization of Blogger was very easy. As it just throws the html file on my server, I can even use SSI. It’s a natural once you “get it”.

Gallery Gruff

Gallery is a PHP based photo album. It nicely tends to the dirty work of html, paging, and so on, but sadly does not readily accomodate largescale formatting customization. So my quest now is to embed it in my html page. I’ll probably resort to using frames for the mean-time.

Next big customization hurdle for my new site? Grrrblog, the very blog you read.

Moved hosting to Tigertech

Just moved my hosting over to Tigertech. Hosting is such a sleazy business, I’m very happy with Tigertech’s the simple and honest approach. And, its very economical!

Lossy Text Compression

I had so much playing with Lossy Text Compression, just compressing and decompressing and so on. Don’t forget to throw in a Reexpress every once in a while.

Compress: Steve likes to hang around with his friends in his neighborhood.

Decompress: Steve likes to hit at with his friends in his area.

Reexpress: Steve likes to assassinate adjacent with his friends in his jurisdiction.

Reexpress: Steve likes to slay at with his friends in his ward.

Decompress: Steve likes to bump off by with his friends in his watch.

which yields:

Steve likes to downgrade insignificant adjacent with his friends in his look out for.

LA Phil

Visited the LA Phil today. Heard them play Maler’s 6th symphony. The Walt Disney Music Hall is beautiful inside and out and sounds extraordinary.
